Continuing its steady ascent in the global academic arena, Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) secured the 85th spot in the 2026 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) Global Top 500 Innovative Universities, climbing significantly from its 121st-place ranking in 2025.
The achievement marks OLFU’s fifth consecutive year of inclusion in the internationally recognized rankings since first entering the list in 2022, underscoring the University’s sustained commitment to innovation, research excellence, ethical leadership, and community-centered education.
Through its campuses in Valenzuela, Quezon City, Antipolo, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, and Laguna, OLFU continues to strengthen its global footprint by advancing programs and initiatives that respond to evolving educational and societal demands.
Beyond its overall global ranking, OLFU earned recognition across eight innovation categories in this year’s WURI evaluation, reflecting the breadth of its institutional initiatives and interdisciplinary impact.
Among its highest distinctions is a Top 10 placement in Ethics and Integrity, highlighting the University’s emphasis on responsible leadership, ethical governance, and values-driven education. OLFU also placed within the Top 45 in Student Mobility and Openness, recognizing efforts that promote accessibility, collaboration, and international engagement among learners and academic partners.
The University further gained distinction in Digital and AI Transformation in Strategy and Management, where it ranked within the Top 54, affirming its growing integration of digital technologies and intelligent systems into institutional operations and educational delivery.
Additional recognitions include Top 62 in Representative Research Project, Top 69 in Curricular Innovation for Future-Readiness, and Top 75 in University-Based Entrepreneurial Projects—categories that collectively reflect OLFU’s pursuit of research-driven learning, adaptive curricula, and innovation ecosystems that equip students for emerging global industries.
OLFU also secured rankings in Cost-Effectiveness Management (Top 85) and Funding for Sustainability (Top 86), demonstrating the institution’s capacity to sustain operational efficiency while investing in long-term institutional growth and socially responsive programs.

The WURI rankings differ from conventional global university assessments by focusing less on academic prestige or publication volume and more on how institutions apply innovation to address real-world challenges.
Over the years, OLFU’s inclusion in WURI has reflected a growing portfolio of impactful initiatives spanning healthcare education, immersive learning technologies, institutional management systems, entrepreneurship, and community development.
In the previous year’s rankings, OLFU was recognized for projects such as the Multiple Applications for Reality-Virtuality Experience Laboratory (MARVEL), developed by the University’s Research Development and Innovation Center (RDIC). The government-funded initiative utilized immersive simulation technologies to enhance medical and allied health education, training, and community engagement.
