The College of Criminal Justice (CCJ) of Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) – Valenzuela City Campus proudly garnered two major recognitions in October, affirming its steadfast commitment to academic excellence, law enforcement collaboration, and community service.

On 20 October 2025, the Valenzuela City Jail conferred upon the College the “Gawad ng Pagkilala” during its 1st Gawad ng Parangal at Pagkilala, held at the Function Hall of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints along Maysan Road, Valenzuela City.

The award citation expressed “sincere appreciation of [OLFU CCJ’s] exemplary service, outstanding dedication, and invaluable contribution as a service provider in our jail facility.” The plaque further highlighted the University’s “selfless contribution” in uplifting the welfare, rehabilitation, and well-being of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs)—a testament to its enduring role in promoting humane correctional practices through student engagement and professional partnerships.

Earlier in the month, on 06 October 2025, the Valenzuela City Police Station also honored the College with the “Most Distinguished and Notable Partner (Private)” award in a ceremony held at the Office of the Chief of Police, Valenzuela City Police Station, MacArthur Highway, Barangay Karuhatan.

In its citation, the police station lauded the College for its exceptional contribution as a Practicum and Internship Partner Institution, recognizing OLFU CCJ–Valenzuela for “setting a standard of excellence, creating unique impact, and fostering valuable collaboration.” The commendation underscored the institution’s “unwavering commitment to providing quality Criminology Education” that has significantly benefited both the law enforcement sector and the local community.

These dual recognitions stand as a reflection of OLFU’s mission to bridge academic learning with real-world application—fortifying its partnerships with agencies that uphold justice, discipline, and public safety.

The University congratulates the College of Criminal Justice – Valenzuela City Campus for exemplifying the Fatimanian spirit of excellence and service, and for continuing to nurture criminology professionals who embody integrity, competence, and compassion in the pursuit of justice.
