Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) reaffirmed its standing as a leading institution in Philippine higher education after earning the Quality and Sustainability Seal from the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) for the second consecutive year. The recognition was conferred during PACUCOA’s 52nd Founding Anniversary and 36th Annual General Assembly held at Novotel Manila Araneta City.
Five academic programs secured the Quality and Sustainability Seal this year: Tourism Management (Antipolo City Campus), Hospitality Management (Antipolo City Campus), Culinary Management (Pampanga Campus), Tourism Management (Pampanga Campus), and Business Administration (Pampanga Campus). Their recognition affirms OLFU’s consistency in meeting PACUCOA’s rigorous accreditation standards.
The seal, awarded to programs that exemplify outstanding academic quality, institutional effectiveness, and long-term viability, follows OLFU’s historic feat in 2024 when it became the first university in the country to receive the prestigious distinction.
A major highlight of the ceremony was the milestone achievement of the BS Culinary Management program of OLFU Pampanga Campus, which was officially named the first in Region III (Central Luzon) to attain Level III Accredited Status.
The designation recognizes the program’s excellence in instruction, faculty training, research initiatives, and modern facilities. With Level III accreditation granting higher academic autonomy, the program further cements OLFU Pampanga’s leadership in culinary education and reinforces its commitment to preparing industry-ready graduates.
Representing University President Dr. Caroline Marian S. Enriquez, a delegation led by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Heracleo Lagrada accepted the awards. Joining him were College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) and College of Hospitality and Institutional Management (CHIM) Dean Dr. Ignacio Cordova Jr.; Pampanga Campus Administrator Dr. Muriel Caballero; Antipolo City Campus Administrator Engr. Wilfredo Basilio; Valenzuela City Campus Administrator Ernesto Leuterio Jr.; Quezon City Campus Administrator Dr. Ramonita Salazar; Cabanatuan Campus Administrator Engr. Roel Trinidad; Laguna Campus Administrator Armando Tecson Jr.; Head of the Center for Quality Management Dr. Ana Liza Ocampo; and University Registrar Elaine Lanuza-Pascual.
They were joined by the program heads who work on the ground to ensure quality delivery: Dr. Rommel Joseph Lazatin (BS Business Administration), Danica Suba-Barin (BS International Tourism Management), and Anna Marie Nepomuceno (BS Culinary Management), along with John Paul Vitug, Center for Quality Management Officer.
This year’s achievements build upon the University’s inaugural Quality and Sustainability Seal in 2024, awarded to the Business Administration, International Hospitality Management, and International Tourism Management programs of the Valenzuela City Campus. Securing the seal for two consecutive years strengthens OLFU’s national standing and underscores the sustained performance of its CHIM and CBA clusters, which continue to lead in accreditation efforts and program innovation.
