Two students from OLFU Laguna have become a source of national pride after scoring wins in Kun Bukator matches at the Southeast Asian Games 2023 in Cambodia.
Travel Management’s firecracker, Angel Gwen Derla, earned a Gold in the women’s single bamboo shield form and a Bronze in the women’s bare hands form (as part of a trio).
On the other hand, OLFU’s Grade 12 spitfire, Alyssa Kylie Mallari, snagged a Silver in the women’s combat 50kg category, and a Bronze in the women’s single bokator spirit form.
Kun Bokator is a Khmer martial art that was used in battle during ancient times.
OLFU brims with joy for and pride in Angel and Kylie, who have brought glory to Filipinos all over the world. They will be coming home to the Philippines as young heroes. Mabuhay kayo, Angel at Kylie!
