In a continued push to expand its internationalization agenda, Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) sent a 12-member delegation to Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang (UNIMMA) in Indonesia for a weeklong academic and cultural exchange held from October 18 to 27, 2025.

The delegation was composed of students from the College of Criminal Justice (CCJ)—seven criminology majors from the Valenzuela City, Quezon City, and Pampanga campuses, and three forensic science students from Valenzuela—alongside two faculty members, including Dr. Cecille Mae Caniilon, Program Head of CCJ in Quezon City Campus, and Michael Salinas of Valenzuela City Campus.

In her narrative report, Dr. Caniilon highlighted the significance of the program, which provided students with an in-depth understanding of Indonesia’s law enforcement environment. It allowed them to reflect on and compare it with the Philippine policing system—making the experience both eye-opening and enriching for faculty and students alike.

The collaboration between OLFU and UNIMMA was formalized under an existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that underscores cooperation in research, academic partnership, and faculty development.  The October engagement marks another milestone in realizing that shared vision, promoting OLFU’s role as a globally engaged university.
