Four cadets from Our Lady of Fatima University’s (OLFU) College of Maritime Education have officially been endorsed for deployment with SK Shipping, a Seoul-based global shipping leader. They are set to join the crew of newly built Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) vessels, some of the most technologically advanced ships in the maritime industry.
These endorsements follow a rigorous screening process conducted by Abosta Shipmanagement Corporation in November 2024, where nine third-year OLFU cadets successfully qualified. The remaining five cadets are currently awaiting deployment advisories for their respective assignments with other esteemed principals within Abosta’s expansive global network.
This milestone further underscores the dynamic and mutually beneficial partnership between OLFU and Abosta Shipmanagement Corporation. In fact, Abosta is already planning additional screening examinations for upcoming batches of OLFU cadets.
Plans are also underway to formalize this collaboration, paving the way for more structured, long-term opportunities for future maritime students of the University. These developments reinforce OLFU’s growing reputation as a trusted source of professionally trained, globally competitive maritime professionals.
The College of Maritime Education continues to establish itself as a hub for maritime excellence, leveraging strategic partnerships to equip students with both the technical expertise and real-world exposure needed to succeed in today’s global maritime landscape.
